Task 1
Impact of Significant Life Events on Individuals
The significant life events affect individuals to a great extent due to their social, physical and psychological impact. According to the given case scenario, Janet was in contact with his friend, Peter, who was stabbed in the face without any reason. This shows both physical and psychological impacts along with the societal changes (Bonanno, 2009). Here, he was in confusion whether to call the police for Peter's act or not. This shows that significant life events have a direct impact on the normal life of individuals as that person becomes helpless due to emotional and psychological motives. Furthermore, Janet faced emotional stress and started living far from Peter to search for a better life. According to the given case scenario, the life even of Janet was not desirable as he got hurt by his dear one. Owing to this, he has suffered from high tension and stress in life. Such kinds of events affect the life of the individual to a great extent. Furthermore, Janet has emotional and physical stress as he starts to keep their distance from the social life. Though there were several relatives to support him still he started maintaining the distance. Moreover, behavioural changes were also seen in Janet after the occurrence of that specific event.
Analyzing the Possible Group Responses to Significant life Events that occur to one of its Members
There are several group responses to significant life events such as life partnerships, family and friends as well as care workers. According to the given case study, Janet got support from care workers and family as well as from communities (Landau and et.al., 2011). This is because situations were transparent and everybody from his family knew about the particular issue. At this juncture, family members and other connected people who knew about this specific event provided support to him. It has already been provided in the case study that Janet had some affair for which his friend was jealous, hence that might also be the possible group response for his significant life event. Apart from this, Janet can get extensive support from his loved one in order to get rid of such kind of stressful situation. Moreover, a friend circle of Janet may take him on a long drive or on a long tour where he can have fun and come out of the panic situation. This will help him to get back to normal life and complete the daily routine in an effective manner. In addition to this, the family responded with the positivity and handled the situation related to a patient in a more effective manner
Analyzing the Impact for others in Health and Social Care when Individual Experiences Significant Life Events
The significant life event of a particular person has a direct impact on all its associated parties such as families, friends circle and society (King and Hicks, 2009). At this juncture, the healthcare sector provides good support to individuals& by treating them in a good manner and making them understand ways to manage the situation effectively. Furthermore, the nursing staff provided support to Janet to forget the incident and at the same time, his family members were also informed to take care of him. In this manner, health and social care members provide extensive support to sufferers and other related people (Luhmann and et.al., 2012). For example, staff members of care homes also get affected due to the actions or significant life events of an individual. They try their best to provide the right solution and fix the issues which are being faced by the individual. Moreover, some of the staff members are quite emotional and had to become strong by seeing such kind of situation of patients like Janet. Apart from this, they need to devote extra time to treat the patient and take him out of the abnormal situation of life.
